Sent March 22, 2011 from SDLI

The season has almost begun! Come join us this weekend, March 26-27th for our first unofficial official opening weekend of the season! From here on out we will be operating on weekends, and by May 1st will be open 7 days a week! WaHOOOOOOOO!!

For those of you who were unable to attend Safety Day, this year’s event was one for the record books and hopefully a welcomed sign of a great season ahead. With over 100+ local skydivers in attendance, the main focus of the event was on canopy control as well as preventative measures that each and every jumper can put into practice to make our skies a safer playground. Let's all congratulate USPA Coach and AFF-I candidate Patty Baronowski who was the recipient of the Chesley H. Judy award and Mirko Consolascio who received his 1,000 jump wings and 12-hour freefall badge.

On that note, anyone who is reaching a milestone in their skydiving career, please be sure to let us know! Who doesn't deserve a little recognition and maybe even a cool pic in Parachutist too ;-) For more info on USPA awards please visit: http://www.uspa.org/USPAMembers/Records ... fault.aspx

Also, USPA National Director and your S&TA Rich "Winnie" WInstock would like to invite you to visit "THE S&TA CORNER" conveniently located at www.richwinstock.com. With over 70 active members, this site will provide you access to valuable information as well as multiple forums in which you can ask questions regarding gear, skydiving, the weather... you name it, as well as communicate with your fellow jumpers and of course Winnie himself. Be sure to check it out today!
